Hey I just wanted to say that you are like a beacon of respect rn theres a temptation to just lash out and be angry because of disappointment that I'm fighting and you probably are too but you still stay so nice and levelheaded and I just wanted to say I really appreciate all the effort you put into being kind I know the way voltron ended just well straight up hurts and I'm glad you're still such a strong pillar despite that

I got this message yesterday, saw it on my email box, but because I don’t have the Tumblr app anymore, I couldn’t reply until I got to my computer. As I sit here and re-read this, I don’t know what to say.

I can’t thank you enough for telling me this. I don’t think I’m worthy of these words, but I’m so thankful anyway because w o w 😭

When I read it yesterday, I had to share it with my girlfriend and my friends. I couldn’t believe it! I was so happy.

I feel I’m not worthy of this anymore because I have abandoned Tumblr and I’m hardly here anymore. Most of these days, I’m only on Twitter. So to think you went out of your way to actually send me this… wow. I really don’t have words.

I can’t deny that I’m disappointed with the ending of the show (and S8 as a whole), but that doesn’t change my love for the series and the characters. I love Voltron. Always have and always will.

Thank you dear anon, for making my whole ~~day~~ week. 💖

I aint gonna articulate this right but I’ve noticed there’s this weird sub culture on tumblr where it’s frowned upon to say anything positive about your life. Like occasionally I see someone post something like “I love my job so much” and a few responses are like “wish I could find a job :/” or “must be nice to not have depression” and it’s really strange. A lot of people are pulling themselves out of dark places or finally figuring out how to be happy (no easy feat) and they don’t need you projecting your own demons on their moments of happiness they wanted to share.

Ships aren’t food, they’re not exercise, they’re not even a nonfiction book or a classic novel. A steady diet of LGBT+ ships with no age or power gap won’t make you emotionally or mentally any healthier. It won’t teach you about how actual relationships work and it won’t prevent you from getting into an unhealthy relationship.

Unhealthy ships won’t ruin you. They won’t corrupt you, they won’t destroy your understanding of actual healthy relationships or erode your morality.

Your fictional diet isn’t your actual diet. There’s no organic vegan gluten-free ship that will fix a single goddamn thing.

Relax. Enjoy yourself. Read whatever fiction fascinates you, tantalizes you, engages you. The content doesn’t matter much for your health, but the joy it brings you might.
